Revised Ofsted Framework 2025
Since November 2025, Ofsted inspections of maintained schools, academies, non-association independent schools and further education and skills provision in England have followed a revised framework.
This framework uses a 5-point scale to grade different areas of a provider’s work. In schools, inspection of Careers Education provision will contribute to the grading of personal development and well-being. In FE and skills providers, inspection of Careers Education will primarily contribute to the grading of participation and development.
The CEC’s Ofsted - Education Inspection Framework Guide provides a structured framework and series of questions for consideration, to help leaders confidently articulate the intent, delivery, and impact of their careers provision.
