Free HGV Skills Bootcamp for the Unemployed
This course is FREE. Our training is fully funded for those registered as unemployed, proof of unemployment will be required prior to enrolment
Course overview
This exciting opportunity will give the learner a chance to gain new knowledge and skills with an end goal of becoming a Class 1 HGV driver. At the end of the course, the learner will gain either their CAT C or CAT C+E HGV licence.
Course delivery
• 10 days classroom-based learning, Monday to Friday 09:00hrs to 17:00hrs
• Self-study for theory / hazard and case study tests*
• Progression on to minimum of 5 days practical training and assessment (dependent upon category of licence)
*theory test passed
The learner will complete training for either their HGV CAT C licence (for rigid body lorries), or CAT C+E (for Articulated lorries). The learner will also apply for their Digital Taco card, and receive their CPC card.
Who is the Course for?
This course is suitable for anyone who is aged 19+ and looking to gain their HGV licence and become a lorry driver. You must be unemployed, self-employed, seeking work, be generally fit and healthy and able to commit to daily attendance.
