Green Jobs for Nature – new website soon to go live and your help needed
As part of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) campaign to promote jobs in the ecology and environmental management sector to young people and potential career changers they are developing a new Green Jobs for Nature website for all and need our help. CIEEM will be launching the website before Green Jobs Careers Week in November 2022. The new website resource will be full of information about types of roles and employers, education and training options, what employers are looking for, the good and the challenging bits about the industry, how to make your CV stand out and how issues such as equality, diversity and inclusion are being tackled.
Critical to promoting the variety of jobs available, and the wide range of employers, is a library of lots and lots of job profiles from all employment sectors. You don’t have to be a CIEEM member to use the website or to complete the profile – the more diverse the better! If you are able to help by telling CIEEM (and others) about your job please go to the Green Jobs for Nature project webpage, fill in the form and if possible upload a photo of yourself at work (if you haven’t got a photo or don’t want to share a photo of yourself that’s fine). CIEEM are also on the lookout for great short videos telling others about your job. It’s really important that we attract a diverse range of people into the professions. A great opportunity for the Environment Agency to promote the diverse range of applied ecological and environmental roles we do and we can offer. The greater the range and diversity of profiles, the greater the chance that people will see something they are interested in and be inspired to do.
