Apprentice Associate Practitioner 

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to complete a Level 4 Apprenticeship in Healthcare Science, specialising in the Respiratory & Sleep Physiology pathway at GHNHSFT. 
To work as a member of the Respiratory Physiologist team and the Community Diagnostic Hub, undertaking basic diagnostic testing where you’ll need to implement and progress treatment plans within agreed protocols.

Cardiac Physiology Apprentice - Healthcare Science Practitioner, Degree Level (6) Apprenticeship

The  apprenticeship in BSc (Hons) in Healthcare Science (Cardiac Physiology) will enable registration as a Cardiac Physiologist on completion of the degree. Cardiac Physiology is a very rewarding career; you will be working with patients across a broad spectrum of Cardiac Diseases, undertaking diagnostic testing and providing treatments to improve their Cardiac well-being.  
The Cardiac Physiology Service provides a broad range of diagnostic tests and treatments to adult patients.

The Apprentice will be expected to complete the elements of the Healthcare Science Practitioner  (Cardiac Physiology) apprenticeship Level 6 over a 3 year timeframe. The timeframe includes:

Year 1:
Modules include an introduction to physiological sciences, the scientific basis of life and anatomy and physiology
Year 2:
Modules develop a focus on cardiac physiology and cover the professional aspects of healthcare science
Year 3:
You will undertake a healthcare science project and study professionalism practice for healthcare science.  You will also gain more advanced and in-depth training in cardiac physiology

Healthcare Science Event 

Healthcare science week is an annual celebration to raise awareness for the many careers in healthcare science. It provides our healthcare science professionals with an opportunity to promote their profession and inspire the scientific workforce of the future.

To be held on Saturday 12th March 2022
10:00 – 14:00 GMT
This event is free and open to all students in Year 11 and above who either live or study within Gloucestershire.

Whats planned

This year we have teamed together with Medical Mavericks https://www.medicalmavericks.co.uk and will be showcasing all the wonderful and quirky things that our talented Healthcare Scientists do. We will be hosting this event at our Cheltenham General Hospital site, Sandford Education Centre. You will be able to purchase a ticket to attend this event through an event bright link which will be available in the upcoming weeks. 
Our specialists will be from:

•    Vascular Science 
•    Histopathology
•    Neurophysiology
•    Audiology
•    Reconstructive Science
•    Radiotherapy 

And many more.

You will have the unique opportunity to engage with the specialists, try out some amazing medical equipment, quiz the scientists, obtain some career advice and discover the different specialisms that Healthcare Science has to offer.
